Clinical testing results of InstanTENSE serum, its effects on skin and eyes
Bio Basic Europe Srl, an independent research institute based in Milan, and the University of Pavia have subjected the InstanTENSE facial serum to long-term clinical testing. This article provides a preview of the report, which was prepared on February 13, 2020.
One of the most important areas of the clinical trial was the evaluation of the so-called ocular (eye) tolerance, during which it was assessed whether the cosmetic product can be safely used in the area around the eyes. The testing primarily measured the effect of the product on the mucous membrane of the eye, the eyelids and the skin under the eyes. Another area of the trial was to assess whether the cosmetic product actually reduces the visibility of wrinkles and bags under the eyes .
Twenty female volunteers between the ages of 30 and 60 , who already had wrinkles and bags under their eyes , were recruited for the test . At the beginning of the study, they were asked to apply the tested product to their faces for 56 consecutive days, once a day, according to the instructions. During the eye tolerance assessment, the volunteers’ conjunctiva and eyelids were examined.
The following parameters were evaluated during clinical testing:
- skin tightness
- skin smoothness
- visibility of wrinkles
- visibility of bags under the eyes
- firming effect
In addition, the evaluations given by the volunteers were also collected. The scores they gave were according to the VNS scale (0-10, where 0 is the minimum value and 10 is the maximum)
The course of the examination
The measurement of skin firmness and elasticity was performed using the CUTOMETER® MPA 580 device. During the measurement, the tested skin area was sucked into a probe opening and released again after a specified time. During the measurement, it was examined how long it took for the skin to return to its original state.
The size of the bags under the eyes and the depth of the wrinkles were measured using the Antera 3D® camera. With high-resolution images and complex mathematical algorithms, the device was able to display 3D images.
The ocular tolerance (eye tolerance) study examined the following:
- changes in the conjunctival mucosa (conjunctivitis and chemosis)
- palpebral (eyelid) skin changes (vasodilation, edema, and blepharitis)
- occurrence of mild undesirable effects (tearing, burning, redness, photosensitivity)
Clinical testing results of InstanTENSE facial serum
The percentage values show the average results of 20 volunteers participating in the clinical test.
Immediate improvement in skin compactness (firmness, firmness):
- 11% improvement 5 minutes after applying the product
- 16% improved 6 hours after applying the product
- 13% improvement 10 hours after product application

Reduction of the depth of eye contour wrinkles:
- They decreased by 3% after 28 days of using the product
- They decreased by 4% after 56 days of using the product

Reducing the size of bags under the eyes:
- They decreased by 2% after 28 days of product use
- They decreased by 5% after 56 days of using the product

The extent of change experienced during 14 and 28-day testing of the ocular tolerance study:
- 0% – changes in the conjunctival mucosa
- 0% – palpebral (eyelid) skin lesions
- 0% – occurrence of mild adverse effects (tearing, burning, redness, photosensitivity)
The measurements showed no difference compared to the baseline. The volunteers who underwent the clinical trial did not experience any eye or skin irritation, even during long-term use of the product.
Reduction in the visibility of wrinkles in volunteers:
- 40% 5 minutes after using the product
- 45% 6 hours after using the product
- 35% 10 hours after using the product
Reduction in the visibility of under-eye bags in volunteers:
- 65% 5 minutes after using the product
- 50% 6 hours after using the product
- 35% 10 hours after using the product
A lifting/firming effect is observed in volunteers:
- 75% 5 minutes after using the product
- 75% 6 hours after using the product
- 60% 10 hours after using the product
Conclusion of the study
Based on clinical testing and feedback from volunteers, we can conclude that the ocular tolerance of the tested InstanTENSE Plus facial serum is excellent . The volunteers who underwent the clinical test did not experience any eye or skin irritation. This was also supported by the zero data of the instrumental measurements.
InstanTENSE Plus facial serum is also proven to improve skin firmness and reduce the appearance of wrinkles and under-eye bags immediately and long-term.
